Raheem Sterling: At the centre of a storm following a new video

Liverpool have declined to comment on a video which The Sun newspaper claims to show Raheem Sterling at a party with friends who appear to be taking nitrous oxide.

It is believed that the footage was taken in the days following England’s European qualifier against Slovenia last weekend.

This latest video comes just a couple of months after the 20-year-old was warned by his club, following the release of previous footage purporting to show Sterling taking the legal high among a group friends in the UK.

The latest images are said to have been filmed in Ibiza and could well anger Reds manager Brendan Rodgers.

Back in April, when the initial video was shown, Rodgers said: “If you’re a professional sports person, at the top level, it’s not something you should be doing.

”Young players will make mistakes and, as long as he learns from them, that is what’s important.”

Drugs charities are warning that inhaling nitrous oxide can be harmful and potentially lethal.

Meanwhile, Sterling’s immediate future has been making the news recently, having refused to sign a new deal at Anfield.

One club showing interest in Sterling is Manchester City who, Sky sources understand, has made a new improved offer of around £40m – their initial bid of £25m was rejected.

It has been reported that Liverpool have valued the England international, who still has two seasons left on his current deal, at £50m.
