The former Republic of Ireland international was talking on the latest 5Times podcast show, alongside returning host Jason McAteer – back from his wedding – and former Red Jim Beglin.

“I like his way, I like his demeanor, I like how he handles the press, I hope we keep him for years”, said Alrdidge. With talk of a new contract being lined up for the boss, Aldo said “It would be the right thing to do.”

“What I love about him [Rodgers], is that he’s putting something in place for the long term” praised Beglin.

The lads discuss the latest on Liverpool FC, including Beglin’s belief that it would be a bad move to send Raheem Sterling out on loan, despite his recent poor form.

McAteer, who played as wing-back for Liverpool under Roy Evans in the nineties, discusses the new formation from his perspective.
