Jordan Henderson will be a massive miss for Liverpool in their next three Premier League games, claims former Reds’ midfielder Dietmar Hamann.

England international Henderson received a straight red for a dangerous challenge on Samir Nasri in injury time of Liverpool’s 3-2 victory over Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday.

Henderson will miss Sunday’s trip to Norwich City, as well as a home clash against title rivals Chelsea and a difficult trip to Tony Pulis’s Crystal Palace next Monday.

And Hamann feels it isn’t “all rosey” for Brendan Rodgers and Liverpool following Henderson’s dismissal and injury to star striker Daniel Sturridge.

“Jordan Henderson will be a massive miss,” Hamann told Sky Sports.

“He’s had a terrific season and scored a lot of goals. He gives them a lot of energy in the middle of the park.

Hamann continued: “It was a little bit of fatigue from Henderson. He jumped over the ball. I don’t think it was malicious but he went over the top. It is a sending off and he misses three games.

“Liverpool don’t have the biggest squad. Allen is probably the one coming in. He did well against Manchester City. But not having Henderson, a guy who has played most of the games this year, is a blow to Liverpool.

“It’s not good losing Henderson. He’s been a revelation.”

Joe Allen and Lucas Leiva are expected to deputise for the absent Henderson and Sturridge against Norwich, with Philippe Coutinho and Raheem Sterling starting alongside Luis Suarez up front. Kick off at Carrow Road is 12 noon.

Liverpool can go five points clear at the top of the table after Chelsea’s shock home defeat to Sunderland on Saturday evening.
