Liverpool legends Jan Molby, Ronnie Whelan and Alan Kennedy join regular 5Times podcast host Jason McAteer to discuss the latest events involving the club, with attention on Sunday’s visit of Manchester City.
The former players recorded the podcast on Monday morning at the club’s Melwood training ground before taking part in a training session ahead of the Hillsborough Memorial Match that they’ll be taking part in on Easter Monday.
Molby, the current chairman of 5Times – the former players association – explained how many players with no connection to Hillsborough are still desperate to pay their tribute.
Attention soon turned to what is arguably the biggest match in Liverpool’s Premier League history, with Kennedy predicting a home win.
Former midfielder Whelan explained how he would suffer horrible nerves before big matches such as this one.
Of the current side, Molby praised “Good teams have a midfield that can dictate the pace of a game, Liverpool have that now.”
“If City come and play the way they always do, they’re in trouble. The explosion of pace we have over 5 yards could really hurt Manchester City.
“I’m watching a Liverpool team that can win this title – I think we will beat City 3-1.”
