As Liverpool enter their final six games, a win at West Ham on Sunday would keep them top of the Premier League and in fine form ahead of the visit from Manchester City.

Liverpool bandwagon set to continue rolling

West Ham United against Liverpool – images of right-wing Alf Garnett against his leftie, layabout son-in-law for all those old enough to remember the late Sixties and early Seventies.

In those days, it was the cultured Cockneys of the East End against the northern grit of the Scousers.

Moore, Hurst and Brooking versus Smith, Hughes and St John. The Reds and the Hammers featured when Match of The Day stopped being Match of the Grey and was broadcast in colour for the first time and we’ve a host of special bets to lighten up this weekend’s clash at Upton Park.

You would hardly class Sam Allardyce’s current West Ham team as artisan exponents of the beautiful game. It’s been all about results this season for Big Sam. The big move to the Olympic Stadium isn’t far away now and it’s vital that the Hammers begin life in their new surroundings in the Premier League.

But safety-first football is not the West Ham way and fans have been showing their displeasure. Perhaps booing the team off the field after they beat Hull a couple of weeks ago was going a bit too far and the Hammers were better in a subsequent victory at Sunderland. But the undercurrent of general disquiet won’t go away and defeat against Liverpool would reopen old wounds.

The Hammers were thumped 4-1 at Anfield in December but haven’t been the only team this season to be on the wrong end of a comprehensive Liverpool victory. Luis Suarez scored twice in that game and his partnership with Daniel Sturridge has become the talk of Europe. Champions League football next season should persuade the controversial Uruguayan to serve out his contract at Liverpool and he’s 5/2 to open the scoring at Upton Park. Sturridge is 16/5 while Liverpool reject Andy Carroll is 9/1 to get the ball rolling for the home side.

Looking at the match betting odds from BetBright, it’s not often that a home team are 7/1 to win a Premier League match but that’s the respect that leaders Liverpool demand in their current form. They will be hoping to complete a ninth straight league win in the capital and we have them at 4/11 to achieve their aim.

They’ve scored 30 goals in their last eight matches but West Ham haven’t been in bad form themselves at home lately, having won four of their last five to ease away from the relegation zone. But they have generally come unstuck against the top six and it’s difficult to see their defence keeping the Liverpool strikers quiet for 90 minutes. A Liverpool win by exactly two goals is 3/1 – Suarez to score and Liverpool to win 2-0 is 17/1.

In an incredibly generous offer from BetBright for all This is Anfield readers, you can get Liverpool at 1/1, (yes, EVENS!) to beat West Ham on Sunday. To avail of this great offer, visit http://ift.tt/1k7fkYv and register today.
