Liverpool are a club at the start of a golden era and winning the League again is just a matter of time, according to renowned sports psychiatrist Dr. Steve Peters.
Peters, who has been working in a part-time role at Liverpool over the past 18 months explained his belief in an interview with The Liverpool Echo newspaper, while also detailing his role at the club.
“They [Liverpool] have had their best season for 24 years and my own belief is that it is the start of a golden era for the club,” he said. “Winning the League again will be just a matter of time.”
Peters explained how it was Steven Gerrard who persuaded him to meet with Brendan Rodgers, with the club captain having approached Peters three years ago.
“When I met Brendan Rodgers I thought he was an amazing man; very insightful, very open, very relaxed,” praised Peters.
“At Liverpool there is such a good support team, so many excellent professionals: I don’t know a player who doesn’t take their job seriously and give 100% effort. It is a privilege to work with the players as they are very professional.
“You just know that this is a Liverpool team that will succeed.”
Peters, who is heading to the World Cup with England to assist with Roy Hodgson’s squad, also works with snooker player Ronnie O’Sullivan.
O’Sullivan previously explained his belief that Liverpool would win the Premier League under the guidance of Peters and Rodgers.
