With Rickie Lambert set to be announced as a Liverpool player on Monday, reports suggest that Spanish international left-back Alberto Moreno is also on the verge of signing for The Reds.
Moreno, 21, was omitted from Spani’s final squad for the World Cup on Friday – although missing out to Jordi Alba and Cesar Azpilicueta is no disgrace.
The Guardian, among others, reported a £16 million bid for Moreno last week, with suggestions that fellow Spaniard Suso could also be a makeweight in the deal, either on loan or permanently.
Further reports suggested that Sevilla were more interested in taking Luis Alberto back to the club from which Liverpool signed him for £6.8m last summer.
Now, Seville based Estadio Deportivo claim an agreement is close to being completed and Moreno will travel to Merseyside next week for his medical and to finalise the deal.
They claim that neither Alberto or Suso will be part of the deal and that Liverpool will pay between 20 and 21 million Euros for the player (£16.2m to £17m), plus add ons.
BBC Sport’s Ben Smith tweeted on Saturday that Liverpool are “hopeful of signing Alberto Moreno, Dejan Lovren and Emre Can in the next fortnight.”
Further reports from Spain, including El Desmarque also report the deal for Moreno is being close to being agreed.

Meanwhile, Lambert passed his medical in Liverpool on Saturday before departing with the rest of the England squad for Miami on Sunday. His move will be confirmed on Monday, the first of what looks set to be a busy week for The Reds.
