Liverpool will face Real Madrid, FC Basel and Ludogorets on their return to the Champions League this season.
The draw was made in Monaco on Thursday evening, with Liverpool drawn in Group B.
The Reds last faced Real in 2009, when they humbled the Spanish giants 4-0 at Anfield and won 1-0 in the Bernabeu.
The last, and only, meeting with FC Basel was in 2002 when the Swiss side drew 3-3 and 1-1 in the group stages.
Bulgarian side Ludogorets qualified for the Champions League for the first time via the play-off on Wednesday night, doing so in dramatic circumstances when their defender saved two penalties in the penalty shoot-out.
Brendan Rodgers‘ side are back in the competition for the first time since 2009/10, having finished second in the Premier League last season.
