Glen Johnson has entered the final year of his contract at Liverpool, but no extension talks have been held as yet.
The England international will become a free agent next summer if fresh terms are not tabled to keep him at Anfield.
Johnson claims to be ‘relaxed’ about the situation, with his focus locked on playing his part in what he hopes will be a successful 2014/15 campaign.
He is prepared to put any discussions regarding his future on hold and will only address the issue of being able to talk to potential suitors in the New Year if nothing changes before that point.
Johnson told the Liverpool Echo: "I’m very relaxed about my contract.
"There are no talks going on with the club at the moment. There were minor talks towards the end of last season but nothing else.
"I’ve loved playing my football here from day one. I’m more than happy here. But obviously I can only talk to the club about it when they want to speak to me."
The 30-year-old full-back, who has spent the last five years on Merseyside, added: “In January, I could (talk to other clubs), but I’ll worry about that when January comes.
"At the minute I’m playing for Liverpool and I’m happy here. I’m more than willing to stay.
"I’ll just concentrate on things here week by week. The manager has picked me so far. That shows he wants me here."
