Manchester City: Backed to get better of Tottenham

Manchester City: Backed to get better of Tottenham

Mark Holmes takes on rapper and Arsenal fan Wretch 32 in this week's prediction challenge, with the Gunners among the teams backed by both men.

This season, our man Mark will take on someone from the world of music or celebrity every Friday to predict the outcome of the 10 Premier League games that weekend.

Every correct result is worth one point, while every correct scoreline is worth three points. We will keep a tally throughout the season to see how Mark fares against all of our guests.

After a big 16-5 win before the international break, Mark is now ahead for the season with 44 points, six more than the guests' 38.

Manchester City v Tottenham

Mark: Tottenham's struggles against the top clubs are well-documented, and I don't see them causing a shock here despite Manchester City's inconsistent start to the season at the Etihad. 2-0

Wretch 32: With Tottenham off form at the moment and Man City having such a strong squad of players and firing upfront with Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero I only can see one side winning here. 2-0

Arsenal v Hull City

Mark: Arsenal's defeat at Chelsea before the international break was a reminder of how far off maintaining a title challenge they still are, but they're still my tip to finish third this season. They'll be too strong for Hull. 3-1

Wretch 32: This could go either way with Hull scoring in every game so far and Arsenal not looking particularly sound at the back. Hull are bound to score but I believe Arsenal having the home advantage will come out on top. 2-1

Burnley v West Ham

Mark: Burnley got a good point at Leicester in their last game but they desperately need to start winning some games to give themselves a chance of survival. West Ham will make it difficult for them, but I think Sean Dyche's side can get their season really up and running in this one. 2-1

Wretch 32: I think this will be a low-scoring game. Burnley will make it hard for West Ham but I think the Hammers will win by a single goal. 3-1

Crystal Palace v Chelsea

Mark: There's not much left to be said about Chelsea. They're clearly the strongest side in the league, it will be a huge shock if they don't canter to the title, and there really aren't many games you can see them dropping points in while everyone is fit. 0-2

Wretch 32: Chelsea are on fire and unbeaten this season, and their sheer power and quality will be to much for Crystal Palace to handle. 0-3

Everton v Aston Villa

Mark: Everton haven't won at home in the Premier League this season, while Villa have already won two away games. The table at the bottom of the page shows Paul Lambert's side have really exceeded my expectations so far this season but I have to go against them again unfortunately. The Blues haven't become a bad side overnight. 2-1

Wretch 32: Everton haven't won at home this season and Aston Villa have lost three on the bounce. This game can go either way but I think it will end up a high-scoring draw. 2-2

Newcastle v Leicester City

Mark: Leicester are another side that have proven me wrong most weekends this season, which is a testament to how well they've done to get nine points from such a difficult start. Like the game at Goodison, no result would surprise me here, but I'm backing Newcastle to get their first home win. 1-0

Wretch 32: Newcastle don't look a potent side at all this season and I can't even see them winning this one. I can see this ending in a stalemate. 0-0

Southampton v Sunderland

Mark: Sunderland got their first win of the season against Stoke before the international break but following it up with another at St Mary's is a big ask. Southampton have managed their transition extremely well and look set for another very good season. 3-1

Wretch 32: I expected the Saints to struggle this season but they've had a decent start. A home win looks the most likely when looking on form but I think this will end up a draw. 1-1

QPR v Liverpool

Mark: Everybody is talking about the impact Luis Suarez's exit has had on Liverpool, but losing Daniel Sturridge to injury has been just as big a blow. With the England striker set to return to the fold here, I expect a much-improved performance from the Reds. 0-2

Wretch 32: I believe Liverpool have the strength and depth to roll out a win in this one. 0-1

Stoke City v Swansea City

Mark: Stoke have struggled against teams that sit deep against them but looked very good on the counter-attack. Swansea's possession-based style should suit them, therefore, but the Potters are making too many errors at the back. There could be goals in this one. 2-2

Wretch 32: With a great start Swansea have had and a poor start Stoke have had, Swansea are looking the most likely winners in this one. 0-2

West Brom v Manchester United

Mark: If my predictions had come true this season, Manchester United would have won every game. That's not because I'm overly optimistic about them, it's because they've had a relatively easy start from which they should have taken a lot more points. They should win this one, too, but what should happen rarely does in the Premier League. 2-3

Wretch 32: With Man United suspect in defence I can see West Brom scoring but with Radamel Falcao, Robin van Persie and Angel Di Maria I can see United creating many opportunities to win this one. 1-2

Five from Wretch 32

How did you come to support your club and what are your favourite memories from your time as a fan?

I started supporting Arsenal because of Ian Wright. I can remember watching the North London derby against Tottenham on TV with my dad who's a big fan of Tottenham Hotspur, and seeing this player from the opposition side, Arsenal, causing so much havoc playing with so much passion and energy made me a instant fan of player and club.

Who have been your biggest heroes during your time supporting the club?

My heroes were Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp and Ian Wright. I was a huge fan of Wright. I wanted to be just like him; I even went to the extreme of asking the barber to give me a bald head once.

What do you make of the current team? What are your hopes for the season?

I'm pretty happy with the current squad of players we have. I do think we're missing a world class striker, though, someone who's already developed, who can get us the goals we need to win the title.

At the moment we haven't got the best of luck going for us with the injuries but I'm hoping now that Theo Walcott's back we can challenge for the title.

Everyone has a soft spot for another team. Who's yours and why?

Mine would be Tottenham as I'm from there.

What's going on for you at the moment?

At the moment I'm in mid-campaign doing promotion for my new single '6 Words' available on November 16 and working on new material for my album dropping early next year.

Wretch 32 will release new single '6 Words' on November 16 through Ministry Of Sound. wretch32.com
