It was an unusually short press conference, with Rodgers giving very brief responses to questions and not his typically talkative manner. Here’s what was said.

Rodgers on Dejan Lovren‘s injury:

“Waiting to hear on that, hopefully he’ll be fit for the weekend.”

Rodgers on the January transfer window:

“I’m not thinking about that at the moment.”

Rodgers on goalkeeper situation:

“No change.”

Rodgers on Alexis Sanchez:

“He’s a world class player. He was identified as a player who could come in for us.”

Rodgers on Raheem Sterling:

“The kid’s been fantastic wherever he’s been played this season.”

Rodgers on Balotelli’s ban:

“We accept the ban, it’s really clear.”

Rodgers on Lazar Markovic vs Bournemouth:

I thought he was excellent. His energy was good, he was a real threat for us.

Rodgers on Arsenal:

“Arsenal are a top side with outstanding players. It will be a difficult game for us”

Rodgers on Fabio Borini:

Like all players they get the opportunity.
