Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has confirmed the club are unlikely to bring on-loan striker Divock Origi to Anfield from Lille before the end of the transfer window.
The 19-year-old was signed by Brendan Rodgers for £10m from Lille in the summer under the proviso he would spend this season back on loan in France.
But with Origi struggling to hit top form, and Liverpool in need of extra strikers, there had been speculation the Premier League club were prepared to pay an extra £3m to bring him to Anfield this month.
But boss Rodgers said on Monday the 19-year-old will not arrive at Anfield until the summer and insists Liverpool have sufficient attacking options to help them achieve their target of a Champions League spot.
Daniel Sturridge is close to a comeback after five months out through injury, while Raheem Sterling, Mario Balotelli, Fabio Borini, Rickie Lambert and Jordon Ibe are also available for Rodgers.
When asked about his plans for January, Rodgers revealed he did not expect to see many players arriving at Anfield and said much of the speculation was down to agents trying to get moves for their players.
Rodgers will be holding a news conference ahead of Liverpool's Capital One Cup semi-final first leg with Chelsea on Monday afternoon - you can watch it from 2pm on Sky Sports News HQ.
