Jordan Ibe has provided some insight into his recovery from a knee injury, though no return date has been set.
Ibe returned from a loan spell at Derby County to produce a good run of form for the Liverpool, before picking up the problem during the Reds’ Europa League exit to the hands of Besiktas in February.
But the 19-year-old says he’s recovering well and hopes to return before the end of the season to help with Liverpool’s push for the top four.
“I’m enjoying it and hopefully I can push on now, keep doing the gym sessions and hopefully get back into training soon and play again,” he told the club’s official website.
“I was a bit nervous coming back because I hadn’t been out on the grass for four weeks, but everything is going well.”
“It was the ligament on the side of my knee and they said I could be out for six to eight weeks, but everything has gone smoothly from here and hopefully I can crack on now and get back in action.
“Things happen for a reason so hopefully I can just learn from this, build up the strength in my knee and come back stronger and hopefully be even better.”
Ibe has made 10 appearances for Liverpool’s first team over the last three seasons, with seven coming since January.
