Luis Suarez has refused to rule out a future return to Liverpool and insists he will never play for another Premier League club.
The Uruguay striker, who left for Barcelona in a £75million deal last summer, headed back to Anfield on Sunday to appear in the Liverpool All-Star charity match.
Suarez scored 82 goals in 133 appearances for Liverpool and after being given a rapturous reception by supporters he said he could never bring himself to appear for another English club.
When asked if he might return to Liverpool in the future, he told the club’s official LFCTV GO channel: “You never know in football what the future holds but if I ever play in England again I will play for the Liverpool team and not another team.”
Suarez came on as a half-time substitute for Steven Gerrard's XI and players up front with another former Anfield favourite, Fernando Torres.
The pair both moved clubs in January 2011, with Torres joining Chelsea just after Suarez arrived from Ajax and Suarez admitted it was great to play up front with the Spaniard.
He added: “It was great for me to play up front alongside Fernando.
"Four years ago when I signed for Liverpool, I crossed my fingers to play with Fernando and he left three days after I signed.
“It was a great day for the other players but for me and Fernando it was a great chance to play together.”
