Brendan Rodgers hailed “a very good performance” as Liverpool continued their impressive run of form with a comprehensive 2-0 victory at home to Burnley in the Premier League on Wednesday night.
Goals from Jordan Henderson and Daniel Sturridge sunk the Clarets as Liverpool kept up the pressure on the top four with 10 games of the season left to play.
“Burnley have shown this season that they’re a tough team to break down, but I thought my players were outstanding tonight,” Rodgers told BBC Sport.
“Defensively we were very strong, limiting their opportunities and keeping a clean sheet.
“We were exciting and a threat going forward and probably should have scored more than two. Our movement, touch and technique in the vital areas was very good.”
Liverpool now turn their attentions to Sunday’s FA Cup clash against Blackburn Rovers at Anfield. Kick-off is 4pm.
