Jamie Mackie: FA Cup joy for Reading in the quarter-final




The dates for both FA Cup semi-finals in April at Wembley involving Reading v Arsenal and Aston Villa v Liverpool or Blackburn have been announced.


The first match will see Championship side Reading take on Arsenal, currently third in the Premier League, on Saturday April 18 with kick-off at 5.20pm.


To round off a Cup bonanza at the national stadium in north London a day later, Aston Villa will face the winner of Liverpool and Blackburn.


Brendan Rodgers' team goes up against the Championship side in their replay on Wednesday April 8 at Ewood Park at 7.45pm after the teams drew 0-0 at Anfield.


Reading, 18th in the second tier of football, beat League One Bradford City 3-0 in a replay to reach the last four of the Cup for the first time since 1927.


FA Cup holders Arsenal are hunting success in the competition for a record 12th time.
