Essential work has continued on the redevelopment of the Main Stand at Anfield with the assembly of the first piece of the new supporting truss.
Liverpool announced the plan to undertake work on the stand in December 2014, with an extra 8,500 seats due to be added.
The changes will take the capacity in the stand to over 20,000, increasing the overall capacity of Anfield to around 54,000.
Work began on January 5 and the expansion is expected to be completed during the 2016-17 season, making the Main Stand one of the largest all-seater single stands in Europe's top divisions.
After work on the Main Stand has been completed, Liverpool will move onto expanding the Anfield Road end with a view to taking the stadium capacity to just under 60,000.
The club had originally considered leaving Anfield, their home since 1892, before opting instead to stay and improve the existing stadium.
