Liverpool are reportedly considering a move for Burnley right-back Kieran Trippier after having a £10million bid for Nathaniel Clyne rejected.
Clyne has been linked with moves to both Liverpool and Manchester United this summer after a stellar season with Southampton which has seen him establish himself in the England team.
The 24-year-old has only a year remaining on his contract at St Mary's, but Saints have already rejected an offer from Liverpool and are said to be holding out for £15million.
Brendan Rodgers is keen to make another bid, according to The Times, but other members of the Reds' transfer committee are said to see Trippier as a better-value option.
Trippier has a £3.5million release clause in his contract at Turf Moor and has also been linked with the likes of Tottenham, Aston Villa and Stoke.
