Liverpool: Rodgers set to keep faith with starting eleven

Liverpool: Rodgers set to keep faith with starting eleven

Liverpool will be hoping for a more fluent attacking display than last weekend then they host Bournemouth in the Premier League on Monday.

Summer signing Roberto Firmino scored a hat-trick in a behind-closed-doors friendly this week, which was also used to give the likes of Danny Ings, Emre Can, Kolo Toure and Mamadou Sakho some match practice, but he is likely to remain among the substitutes as Brendan Rodgers is poised to name an unchanged side.

Midfielder Joe Allen is sidelined with a hamstring problem.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe promised on Friday that "everyone will get a chance" to feature at Anfield after new signings Max Gradel, Sylvain Distin, Tyrone Mings and Adam Federici all started on the bench last weekend.

Midfielder Harry Arter missed out against Villa and is facing a race to recover from groin and hip problems, while loan signing Christian Atsu and midfielder Shaun MacDonald could also be in contention after injury.

Opta stats

Liverpool have never lost to Bournemouth in six previous cup fixtures (W4 D2). This will be their first league meeting.

Bournemouth's two previous trips to Anfield to face the Reds have ended in a 4-1 defeat (FA Cup 3rd round replays in 1927 and 1968).

No side won more away games (13) or collected more points away (44) than Bournemouth in the Championship last season.

Liverpool only attempted four shots (excluding blocked) in their first game against Stoke City - fewer than any other side on MD1.

Liverpool launched 28 long balls on MD1 against Stoke; 12 more than they averaged per game in 2014-15 (16).

Only Man City (693) and Arsenal (481) completed more passes on MD1 of the 2015-16 Premier League season than Bournemouth (464).

Callum Wilson scored 12 goals in 23 games away from home in the Championship last season - only Ipswich's Darryl Murphy (13) scored more on the road.

Matt Ritchie assisted more goals than any other player in the Championship in 2014-15 (17).

Christian Benteke has scored 11 goals in his last 12 Premier League appearances.

Simon Mignolet has kept more clean sheets than any other Premier League goalkeeper in 2015 (10).
