Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe feels Liverpool have been unlucky in recent games but is looking forward to their Capital One Cup quarter-final clash against them on Wednesday.
Brendan Rodgers' side currently sit 10th in the Premier League, 18 points shy of leaders Chelsea.
They head into the tie having failed to progress to the knockout stages of the Champions League before suffering their seventh league defeat of the season against Manchester United on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the south coast club are top of the Championship and are chasing a place in the Premier League for the first time.
Howe's side are unbeaten since September and have already beaten top-flight opposition in the League Cup this season in West Brom.
Special game
The Cherries will be looking to avenge their 2-0 defeat to Liverpool in the FA Cup last season when they host the Merseysiders at a sold-out Goldsands Stadium, live on Sky Sports 1.
"The game against Liverpool is a really special one in the club's history," Howe told Sky Sports. "We've never been to a major cup quarter-final in our history so to be up against a club the size of Liverpool with their history makes it all the more special for us.
"I think they've been incredibly unlucky. You look at the game against Manchester United on Sunday, I thought they were excellent and on another day I think they would have won the game with all the chances they created.
"People over react and look very short-term in football. Brendan won manager of the year last year and deservedly so in my opinion and he's still an outstanding manager."
Watch Bournemouth take on Liverpool in the Capital One Cup quarter-final, live on Sky Sports 1 on Wednesday from 7pm.
