Kenny Dalglish is to return to football management, in the new Indian Super League, according to reports.
The former Liverpool player and manager was recently appointed non-executive director at Anfield.
Indian media outlet IBN Live report that Dalglish will be a “marquee” manager, and joined by Peter Schmeichel and Marcel Desailly in the new League.
The Times of India reports that Dwight Yorke, Fredrik Ljungberg, Robert Pires, Louis Saha and Hernan Crespo have already signed up to compete, with Thierry Henry and Michael Owen also in talks.
The League starts next January.

“Gerrard is a world class player and still operates at a high level.
“Alex is entitled to have his own opinion, but I’m not here to publicise his book.
“The one thing I was disappointed with was his comments on Jordan Henderson. He’s a model professional and is giving everything to improve – and he is improving.”
“I’m sure if Alex Ferguson bumps into Jordan Henderson at some point in the future, he’ll apologise.”
“I’d be bitterly disappointed if a player felt he couldn’t come to me about something out of fear the manager may repeat it in a book later down the line.
“I’ve had a couple of opportunities to write a book, but it’s not something I’m interested in right now.”
“We’re always looking to improve. When I came here the club had finished 8th, and last year we finished 7th so we’ve still got huge strikes to make.
“We’ve had a few injuries this year and they’re starting to come back now, so our game will continue to improve.
“I don’t set Daniel Sturridge targets to score X amount of goals a season. But I’ve said this before, I believe he can be one Europe’s best strikers in years to come.”
“He’s still struggling with his shoulder. He’s been working with us these last few days, but his touch on the ball and his skill is exceptional. You do miss quality and it will be great to have him back next week.”
“Part of the result last week was the resiliance of Newcastle – you have to give credit to them. We just couldn’t make the breakthrough. There was a sense of frustration, but you have to move onto the next game.
“West Brom are a dangerous team, but we know our home games are vital and we really need to make sure we get three points at the weekend.”
“They’ve got a solid team and a solid defence. They’re got a really good structure their team who are strong and can pass well.
“We know it’s a difficult game, but every game is difficult in this league whether it’s home or away. We need to work out how to solve these problems and overcome them.”
“It’s always going to be tough and it’s a sign that the league is evolving that there are so many good teams.”
“We’ve been working on it because we know we can get goals. It’s something we need to fix as we know that we can keep clean sheets – we kept three in a row at the start of the season.
“If you analyse the goals we’ve conceded from set pieces, we haven’t done our jobs properly. It’s about concentration, losing a man and not covering the posts properly.”
“The goal that Diego Maradona scored [against England in the 1986 World Cup]. The dribble.
“But congratulations to the F.A. for 125 years and congratulations to all the volunteers in football across the country that continue to help young kids come into football.”

Rodgers was speaking at the official opening of the new Anfield museum on Wednesday night when he was discussing the club’s good start to the season.
“We’ve made a good start, considering we still need 8 players to win the League!” joked Rodgers.
Earlier this week, in his autobiography, former Man United boss Ferguson claimed Liverpool were eight players short of being genuine title contenders, along with multiple other claims that made him sound like the bitter old man he is.
In an interview with talkSPORT on Thursday morning, Rodgers was asked to respond to criticisms of Steven Gerrard by Ferguson, who claims in his book that the Reds captain is not a “top, top player”
“I think everyone who’s seen the comments will think they are harsh,” he told the the radio station’s breakfast show. “I’ve watched Gerrard for many years and recognised he’s a top player but it’s only when you come in and work with the man that you realise how professional he is on a daily basis.
“His performance level at 33-years of age shows he’s a top, top player. He’s a great talent, a wonderful player and I don’t think anyone could argue against that.”

Liverpool Football Club opened it’s doors to the recently renovated club museum on Wednesday and kindly invited This Is Anfield along for the opening celebrations.
The evening allowed guests the opportunity to be amongst the first to take a walk around the memorabilia filled museum, still situated in the Kop stand at Anfield.
Brendan Rodgers was in attendance to welcome the opening, revealing that he took his family around the original museum on his arrival at the club last summer.
Rodgers also took a swipe back at Alex Ferguson’s recent comments that Liverpool still need 8 new players to challenge for the Premier League: “We’ve made a good start… considering we need 8 players to win the League!”
The likes of Jan Molby, David Fairclough and Phil Neal also joined journalists, fan media creators such as ourselves, musicians and entertainers, club officials and guests for the evening.
The new museum allows visitors to be given an audio guide around the museum from former club captain and legend of the city, Phil Thompson, who was also in attendance on Wednesday night.
Using Android technology, visitors are equipped with a touch-screen device and headphones to pull up photographs and narrative from Thompson as he takes fans through the museum and the history of the club.
There’s the opportunity to see all 5 European Cups that the club has won, and have your photo taken with it too – somewhat bizarrely superimposed onto a background of your choice – Anfield, the dressing room, or holding the trophy with a current first-team player.
The recent Womens’ Super League trophy is also in the museum, as well as shirts, scarves, turnstiles, models, timelines and fashion taking visitors through the years of one of the world’s most famous clubs.
The new museum also does it’s best to connect visitors to the city, with Thompson explaining the importance of the relationship between the city of Liverpool and the football club on the audio guide.
