Fabio Borini: Wants to leave Liverpool

Fabio Borini: Wants to leave Liverpool

Fabio Borini "expected more consideration" from Liverpool and wants to leave the club this summer, according to his agent.

Borini made just 12 Premier League appearances for Liverpool in the 2014-15 campaign and the Italian wants a move away from Anfield in search of more playing time.

"Fabio wants a new experience," Borini's agent Marco De Marchi said to Italian sports newspaper Corriere dello Sport. "We expected more consideration from Liverpool.

"There are teams from all over Europe interested in him.

"Top clubs in Europe are keen on him, from the Premier League to the Bundesliga and there also clubs in Italy, but many clubs in Italy have had coaching changes and that has slowed things down.

"He has no preference, he just wants a team that gives him a clear chance to prove himself.

"Right now he feels like a lion in a cage."

Borini joined Liverpool in the summer of 2012 from Roma and is under contract with the Reds for another season.

The 24-year-old scored seven goals in 25 league starts while on loan at Sunderland in the 2013-14 campaign.

Liverpool reportedly agreed a £12million fee with Sunderland to sell Borini last summer but the player turned down a permanent move to Wearside.

"His current value is that given by Sunderland last year," De Marchi said. "However, that figure could be affected by the season he's had at Liverpool and the fact that in a year his contract runs out.

"For the time being, everything is on standby as the player is currently on his honeymoon but will return shortly."

Simon Kjaer: Happy with Fenerbahce's ambitions

Simon Kjaer: Happy with Fenerbahce's ambitions

Denmark defender Simon Kjaer claims he opted for a move to Fenerbahce over Liverpool because he wants to "win trophies".

The former Lille defender is reported to have rejected a move to Anfield in favour of a move to Turkey, where he signed a four-year deal on Wednesday.

His performances for Lille had seen him linked with a summer move to Merseyside - a move which Kjaer admitted would have pleased his family.

"It's not a secret that my family are Liverpool fans, and a move to Liverpool would make my family happy,” he told French newspaper Le Figaro.

Despite this, the 26-year-old appears to have turned down the chance to move to Anfield, and has launched a scathing assessment of the club’s title-winning credentials.

"Liverpool wanted me, but I want championships, I want to win trophies,” he told Turkish newspaper Haberturk.

“Fenerbahce's goals this season are big, and it was explained to me very well."

Lucas Ocampos: Linked with £14million move to Liverpool

Lucas Ocampos: Linked with £14million move to Liverpool

Liverpool have reportedly contacted Monaco to ask them about the availability of winger Lucas Ocampos and defender Aymen Abdennour.

The Reds have been tracking Argentinian Ocampos since 2011 and are now considering a summer move, with reports in Italy suggesting he would command a fee of around £14million.

The club are planning for life after Raheem Sterling, despite rejecting an improved £40million bid from Manchester City for the player earlier this week, and Ocampos fits their profile of buying young, quality players with the ability to improve.

Ocampos began his career with River Plate in Argentina before moving to Monaco in 2012 for around £11million. He's made 80 appearances for the Ligue 1 club, scoring 12 goals, but was shipped out on loan to Marseille last season, wher he scored just once in 12 games.

Nonetheless, Marseille remain keen to do a permanent deal for the player and are ready to battle Liverpool for his signature.

Another option could be the Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk winger Yehven Konoplyanka, a Liverpool target last season.

Konoplyanka saw his potential £15million move to Anfield collapse after Dnipro stalled over a fee but he is ready to push again for a transfer to the Premier League rather than Spain.

In May he went public with his desire to leave Dnipro and issued a formal transfer request, and he has now reiterated where he wants to play next season.

"My priority is to play in England," he told Futbol 1. "There is where I want to continue my career and I am going to do it. The clubs may meet with Dnipro, but I can only say what I am doing."

However, Ocampos looks to be top of Liverpool's wish list and he could be joined at Anfield by his Monaco team-mate

Abdennour, who is also claimed to be wanted by Brendan Rodgers.

The Tunisia defender only signed a permanent deal at Monaco a year ago after initially impressing on loan but has told L’Equipe that he is ready for a new challenge.

"I do not think everyone will leave. I am ready for anything.

"I trust my president and my director. They know me, I will not put pressure on them.

"We respect each other, we work as a family.

"I am ready for anything. I’d love to play for big clubs. Why not leave so I can make more progress?”

Abdennour has been capped 33 times for his country and has also been linked with Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle.
