Andriy Yarmolenko: Ukraine star linked with Premier League

Andriy Yarmolenko: Ukraine star linked with Premier League

Andriy Yarmolenko has confirmed his desire to leave Dynamo Kiev this summer after he helped the club to the Ukrainian title.

Yarmolenko has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Liverpool, Tottenham and Stoke all reported to have attempted to sign the 25-year-old in the past.

Dynamo have so far managed to keep the interested parties at bay, but Yarmolenko now expects to move this summer.

"I think that right now is the perfect time to change clubs," he told Ukraine's profutbol. "I promised that until we become champions, I was not going anywhere. I kept my promise, we became champions.

"The president knows that I want to leave, I have repeatedly spoken about this.

"I want to grow. It is hard, it is unclear where I will play next. There have been suggestions from good teams.

"I feel the strength and confidence to be able to play in one of the top championships. If I want to play enough in Europe, now is the time to move."

Sebastian Coates (right): Helped Sunderland to safety

Sebastian Coates (right): Helped Sunderland to safety

Sunderland will attempt to sign Liverpool defender Sebastian Coates on a permanent basis after he helped the to Premier League safety.

Coates made just four league appearances for Sunderland prior to the appointment of Dick Advocaat, but the Uruguayan was handed his chance in the last six games of the season and did enough to convince the Black Cats to sign him permanently, according to the Sunderland Echo.

Liverpool are said to be willing to take considerably less than the £7million they paid to sign him from Nacional in 2011, but matching his salary at Anfield may prove troublesome for the North East club.

Leicester could also make a move for Coates, but Sunderland hope to make him one of two central defensive signings over the summer, with Wes Brown expected to leave when his contract expires at the end of the month.

Celtic's Virgil van Dijk remains a priority target for the Wearsiders, although they could face competition from the likes of Southampton, Everton and Arsenal.

Alexandre Lacazette: Will not join Liverpool, says Lyon president

Alexandre Lacazette: Will not join Liverpool, says Lyon president

Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas has ruled out the possibility of France striker Alexandre Lacazette joining Liverpool this summer.

Liverpool are reportedly set to open contract talks with Burnley striker Danny Ings this week but are also tipped to sign another striker, with Christian Benteke linked and reports in France suggesting they were preparing a move for Lacazette.

Aulas, however, insists there is little chance of the 24-year-old moving to Anfield.

"The latest rumours are trash," the Lyon president wrote on Twitter.

"Liverpool have never called Lyon about Lacazette and without playing in the Champions League they have neither the money nor [would they be] able to interest him."

Lacazette finished the season as the top goalscorer in Ligue 1 with 27 goals and has also been linked with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain.

Luciano Vietto: Linked with Atletico, Arsenal and Liverpool

Luciano Vietto: Linked with Atletico, Arsenal and Liverpool

Villarreal are reportedly attempting to renegotiate Luciano Vietto's contract to ward off interest from Atletico Madrid, Arsenal and Liverpool.

Vietto is attracting attention having scored 20 goals in 48 games for Villarreal this season, but Spanish newspaper AS claims the Yellow Submarine are in talks with the 21-year-old's agent in a bid to increase a €20million (£14.5m) release clause, which Atletico, Arsenal and Liverpool are all said to be willing to meet.

Vietto was coy when asked about his future over the weekend, claiming it "could be the best thing for all" if a club matches his buy-out clause, and AS says the presence of Diego Simeone at Atletico could give them an advantage in the battle to sign the Argentina Under-20 striker.

Vietto's agent Jorge Cyterszpiler has also suggested a move away from Villarreal is likely for his client.

"We know that a lot of big clubs are watching Luciano Vietto," he said. "There is a lot of competition for him. I think he could leave Villarreal in the summer."

James Milner enjoyed a solid campaign for Manchester City and is in demand now his contract is set to expire

James Milner enjoyed a solid campaign for Manchester City and is in demand now his contract is set to expire

Sky Sports sources understand that Manchester City and England midfielder James Milner has held talks with both Arsenal and Liverpool.

But Milner, who becomes a free agent when his City contract expires this summer, will not make a decision about his future until after the upcoming England games.

Milner has 53 England caps to his name and is in the squad once again for the friendly against Republic of Ireland on June 7 and the Euro 2016 qualifier in Slovenia on June 14.

The versatile Milner featured regularly for Manchester City last season and the club are believed to have offered him improved terms to stay.

But he started just 18 of the 32 Premier League games he appeared in last term and it has been suggested that he would be interested in a move to a club where he would be a regular starter.

The 29-year-old has been at Manchester City since the summer of 2010 but has been linked with a switch to Liverpool for a while and it seems that Arsenal are also now contenders for his signature.

Even in slightly limited action, Milner managed seven Premier League assists last season and scored five times into the bargain.
