Which players have been put on the released list by their Premier League clubs?

Premier League clubs have submitted the list of players that they will be keeping in their squads, and the ones they will be releasing this summer. 

It is important to note that although these players are on the released list, it does not neccessarily mean they are heading for the exit door. It may just mean their contract expires on June 30 and has still to be extended.

Abou Diaby, as expected, is on the Arsenal list and it appears his nine-year injury-hit career at the Emirates is over. Ron Vlaar is among those named released by Aston Villa - but the club has offered him a new contract.

Hull have released the most players - 13 - whilst champions Chelsea have just one, Didier Drogba.

Liverpool confirmed the departures of captain Steven Gerrard, Glen Johnson and goalkeeper Brad Jones.

Gerrard is joining Los Angeles Galaxy next month while the latest club to be linked with Johnson are Besiktas, the side which knocked the Reds out of the Europa League last season.

Sterling will have deal 'lined up' - Harry

Raheem Sterling: Liverpool future still uncertain

Liverpool forward Raheem Sterling has more than likely already been offered a lucrative contract elsewhere, according to Harry Redknapp.

Sterling is reported to be wanted by Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich among others after his agent, Aidy Ward, said he would "definitely not" sign a new contract at Liverpool.

The Reds are determined to keep hold of Sterling but, should they eventually relent, Redknapp believes the 20-year-old will already have a deal lined up.

"What are you going to get out of Raheem Sterling if you force him to stay against his wishes?" Redknapp said on Kicca.com.

"There's somebody whose spoken to his agent, there's no danger, there's a deal lined up somewhere, we mustn't kid ourselves.

"There isn't a transfer that gets done where someone hasn't spoken to somebody, it's all done that way.

"So whatever club it is in this country, they'd have made an offer, they'd have had a meeting with the agent and someone and there'll be a deal on the table, 'This is what we'll give him, this is the deal, 150 grand a week.'

"He wants it, suddenly you say 'No you're not going,' how's he going to play? I know he's not going to not try, he wouldn't do that, he's got to go out and try, but if his head's not right you've got a problem.

"So you've got to try and get him in on his own, talk to him and say 'Look, we want you to stay' and if he says 'Well, I don't want to stay' then I think you've got to sell him."

Christian Benteke to be offered new Aston Villa deal, says Chief Executive Tom Fox

Christian Benteke: Has been linked with a move to Liverpool

Aston Villa chief executive Tom Fox is confident Christian Benteke will remain at Villa Park and has revealed the club are set to offer him a new contract.

Benteke has been linked with a string of clubs this summer, most recently Liverpool, after ending the season in spectacular fashion to help Villa avoid relegation, and with a £32.5m release clause in his current deal Villa could be powerless to prevent him leaving.

However Fox insists Benteke has a great working relationship with Tim Sherwood and says the club are under no pressure to sell the player.

Fox admits they are yet to speak to the Belgian regarding his future but hopes Villa will be able to keep the striker who scored 15 goals in all competitions last season, 12 coming in his last 13 appearances.

Benteke has two years left on his deal at Villa and is currently on international duty with Belgium as they prepare to face Wales in a crucial European Qualifier on Friday.

"We are obviously going to offer him a new contract in the summer. He's a fantastic player and one of the top strikers in the Premier League and I think he is someone who is recognised around the world as one of the top strikers.

"He was critically important as you saw this year for us. His goals in the second half of the season were fundamental to us staying up. He's settled in England.

"He has got a good relationship with everyone at the club. I know him and Tim have a great working relationship, so our hope is we can keep him. I haven't had any conversations with him, I know he's got two years left on his deal as a starting point, so I am fairly certain we can have him back next year if we want."

Skrtel: I'd join anyone but Man United

Martin Skrtel: Liverpool defender rules out Manchester United move

Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel has said he could envisage joining any club this summer - apart from Manchester United.

Skrtel revealed last week that he had turned down the offer of a new contract at Anfield, describing it as "unacceptable".

"I think that contracts like this are offered to players who are much older than me or the player who had some health problems," the Slovakian defender said.

"The contract which has been offered to me is unacceptable, so I did not sign it. I have one year left and there has been some speculation about the interest from other clubs. We will see what happens."

While Skrtel is made it clear he is open to the idea of a transfer this summer, he has ruled out ever joining Liverpool's rivals Manchester United.

"I can imagine a transfer to anywhere but to United, never," he said in the Daily Express.

AC Milan hold talks over signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic from PSG

Ibrahimovic celebrated another French title last month

AC Milan have held talks with Zlatan Ibrahimovic's representative Mino Raiola over bringing the Sweden star back to the San Siro, according to Sky sources.

Ibrahimovic is believed to be keen on a move away from Paris Saint-Germain this summer and Raiola met with Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani on Tuesday.

The 33-year-old, who has one year left on his current deal, is the subject of interest from a number of European clubs, with Premier League sides Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal reportedly among them.

Former club Milan, where he spent two years until 2012 and scored 28 Serie A goals in 32 appearances, are believed to be willing to offer him a three-year contract.

Ibrahimovic, a national hero in Sweden with over 100 caps and 54 goals, has accumulated some of the biggest transfer fees in the history of the game, with moves between Malmo FF, Ajax, Juventus, Internazionale, Barcelona, Milan and PSG fetching a total of £133.2m.

Ibrahimovic moved to PSG in 2012 for £15.7m and has scored 75 goals in Ligue 1 in 88 starts and 15 goals in 22 appearances in the Champions League.
